Wednesday nights at First Baptist Church of Whitesburg are filled with faith, fun, friendship, and lots of opportunities for children to grow!
Our AWANA Clubs provide a fun, Christ-centered environment where children can learn about Jesus, discover the truths of God’s Word, make friends, and know just how much they matter to God.
What is AWANA?
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, based on 2 Timothy 2:15.
Our mission is simple:
To reach children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help train them to know, love, and serve Him.
Each Wednesday evening includes:
- Bible lessons and Scripture memory
- Games, activities, and lots of fun
- Caring adult leaders
- Friendship and fellowship
- Opportunities to grow in their relationship with Jesus
- A full meal at no cost
Come Hungry — We’ll Feed You!
We know Wednesday evenings can be busy for families. That’s why every child attending AWANA receives a full meal at no cost.
There’s no need to rush home after school, prepare supper, and then hurry back out the door. Bring the kids, and we’ll make sure they’re fed physically and spiritually!
Children enjoy eating together as part of their Wednesday evening before continuing with Bible lessons, Scripture memory, games, and activities.
Who Can Attend?
AWANA is open to children Preschool through 5th Grade, and there is no cost to attend.
Whether your child has grown up in church, hasn’t been in a while, or has never been to church before, they are welcome here!
YOUR CHILD HAS A PLACE HERE!
We want every child who walks through our doors to know that they are seen, loved, welcomed, and important to God.
AWANA isn’t simply another Wednesday night activity. It’s an opportunity for children to build friendships, have fun, learn God’s Word, and begin developing a faith that can guide them for the rest of their lives.
Middle & High School Students
We’ve got a place for the older kids, too!
Students in 6th–12th Grade are invited to our FBC Youth Ministry on Wednesday evenings from 5:30–7:00 PM for Bible study, fellowship, discipleship, and activities.
Youth also meet Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM.
Need a Ride?
We don’t want transportation to keep a child from being part of Wednesday nights at First Baptist.
Bus pickup is available within Whitesburg city limits.
Call the church for information or to make transportation arrangements.
